A Few Words From Clients
"Working with Donna Stewart as a copy editor improved the submission draft of my book by a significant amount. She covers the basics of proof reading like a pro, but it's her extraordinary talent as a writer/storyteller that makes her creative input invaluable. Her intuition, guidance and meticulously researched suggestions, along with a quick turnaround, add up to a very high recommendation."
Roger Holzberg, Innovator and Co-Founder, Reimagine Well and former Vice President/Creative Director at The Walt Disney Company

"Donna's work collaborating on the publication of several major coaching and counseling books such as Winning Behavior, Adaptive Coaching: The Art and Science of a Client-Centered Approach to Performance Improvement and What People Want, by Dr. Terry Bacon, was absolutely invaluable. She played a huge role in these works being named by several reviewers as among the best professional development works published in their respective years. She is very, very good at what she does." Dr. Bruce Spining, Korn Ferry

"You know how sometimes someone comes into your life who is both magical and gifted?
Showing up just when you need them the most? Well, that is how I feel about Donna Stewart. I
was trying to write a complicated book about my work as a Creative Arts Therapist; slogging my
way through a jungle of verbosity when suddenly a light shown through that forest and it was
Donna.
Not only is she a fine writer, but she also has the intuition of a great teacher. A wise editor who
knows how to navigate the sensitive ego of a fledgling writer and bring out the best in them- by
gently coaxing the work into fruition and by sometimes (as in my case) placing her sandaled foot
well up my bum. I needed both and am so extremely grateful to have had the Universe bring this
fabulous woman into my life and work.
I implore those of you looking for help with your projects (no matter what kind of work you do)
to contact Donna and let her work her magic with you. You will not regret it."
Bradford Bancroft, former Actor and Expressive Arts Therapist

"Donna’s unique skills proved outstanding in providing much-needed and sustained support, navigating through the many challenges of producing a book of this magnitude resulting in an excellent and beautifully illustrated book." Maxwell Fraval, DO

Available Services
Freelance Research/Research Writing
I am one of the few people who graduated from college and missed writing all the papers. This is my bliss: learning and writing. I love researching, whether for books, articles, research papers or films.
Copy Editing/Project Management
Copy Editing includes reading for typos, grammar, spelling, punctuation...and way wrong words. AI, Grammarly and Spellcheck will let you use wrong, even ridiculously wrong, word choices. I won't. In addition, I read for other writing issues such as: awkward wording, repetition, transition, flow, style, continuity, clarity, organization, copyright and fair use, conducting interviews, project and resource management. Note: My work is in the book creation process. You will still need to choose and manage your own publisher or publishing platform, but I will share what I've learned and experienced from some of the platforms available.
Developmental Coaching
Need some help breaking your writer's block or know your book needs more (or less) but not sure yet how to shape it? Developmental Coaching is an interactive experience where we work together, passing the manuscript back and forth, as I coach you on how to make your work more compelling, when and where to dive deep and when to dial back. This is an excellent way to take your book (and writing skills) to the next level. Think of it as having a creative personal trainer. This experience is combined with Copy Editing. Try getting all that from AI. As a professional researcher, I have graduate training in multiple industries including (but not limited to) psychology, human resources, science, medicine, and alternative/complementary medicine. If I don't know it, I am open to learning.
Book Production Project Management
Producing a book takes not only knowing the required steps and best practices, but also knowing how to manage and obtain multiple resources. I have over twenty years experience performing award-winning work on books in the professional and private sectors, from executive coaching and development, to medicine, to psychotherapy and other nonfiction books, to science fiction. I have managed teams located all over the world, in multiple time-zones, coordinating multiple authors, graphic designers, editors, indexers and expert contributors. I know how to do this. Note: My work is in the book creation process. You will still need to choose and manage your own publisher or publishing platform, but I will share what I've learned and experienced from some of the platforms available.
Copy Writing
Research reports, white papers, helping to flesh out your own book, and sometimes, you guessed it: Ghost Writing. Fee ranges based on level of difficulty and whether or not I get credit, full or partial.
Memoirs
Some people owe it to history to write their stories. Some are looking for a lasting legacy for their families or industries. I've only worked on one memoir: My own. BUT I did win an international award for it. Thinking about it? Let's talk.
Past Projects
In addition to items on my Works page, I have the following projects in my credits:
I spent six years as the Senior Research Associate for Lore International Institute (since acquired by Korn Ferry International, one of Fortune Magazine's 2018 Most Admired Companies). Most of this time was spent blissfully emerged in the deep research behind Executive Education and Executive Coaching, assisting in the research, editing, writing and production of white papers, research reports and five books on those topics, including Winning Behavior: What the Smartest, Most Successful Companies Do Differently, The Behavioral Advantage, The Elements of Power, The Elements of Influence, and What People Want. Most recently, I worked on Roger Holzberg's Magic String, Rachel Brook's Three Great Teachers of Osteopathy and two additional medical books on Osteopathy. One is still in process, but Osteopathy is in the Blood was released in January 2025 and has already received much acclaim.
